Did you know that popcorn was an Indigenous discovery?

The popcorn variety of maize corn has a known history across Turtle Island (North America) since 5000 BC. French explorers documented finding popcorn being made by the Haudenashaunee (Iroqouis) nations in the Great Lakes Region. They would heat the kernels in pottery filled with heated sand. The Haudenashaunee were accomplished farmers and corn was a staple in their extensive agricultural communities.
