Evelyn Turner is Cree from the Weenusk First Nation in Northern Ontario, and now resides in North Bay.
Evelyn learned how to create beadwork and learned about her Cree culture from her mom, who taught her to make Cree floral patterns. She makes many beaded crafts such as earrings, bracelets, medallions, purses, moccasins, mitts, phone cases and ribbon skirts. Evelyn is also a fluent Cree speaker.
Evelyn loves the work that she does and supports her family by maintaining her culture, and is passing these teachings down to her children.
