Sacred Earth Artworks

Hello, Wachay! My name Nuha Maisonneuve (she/her) and I am a mixed First Nations - East Indian artist who grew up off-reserve in Ottawa, Ontario but now reside in Petawawa, Ontario. My mother's side is originally from Northern Ontario (specifically Mushkegowuk Territory). I have always had a passion/appreciation for pottery, and feel this is truly my happy place in life!

All pieces are handmade such as bowls, plates, mugs, spoon rests, garlic graters and even smudge bowls (traditionally one would use an Abalone shell but because it is becoming increasingly endangered this is a great alternative). Most pieces created are inspired by Mother Earth.

I believe that although our Indigenous People can be spiritual and have a love/respect for Turtle Island we also have a great sense of humour! For this reason, I am really enjoying creating pieces that have 'Native slang' terminology that are all hand carved/painted.

All pieces are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe (up to 350°c).

Meegwetch!
