Aaniin, tansi! My name is Charmaine Leonard and I am Oji-Cree from Peguis First Nation on Treaty 1 Territory, however I've grown up in Ottawa(unceded Algonquin Territory) for most of my life. Ever since I was a little girl my mom, the owner of Laura Leonard Originals, has taught me how to bead and sew but I only found my love for beading in my late teen years. What started off as a hobby has since progressed into much more, and beading is one of the many ways that I and many other Indigenous people are reconnecting with our culture.
