Tobacco (yellow) is considered the most sacred of the Indigenous sacred medicines, used in virtually every ceremony as a means of connecting directly to the Creator.

Sweetgrass (red) symbolizes healing and peace. It also symbolizes love, harmony, strength, purity, positivity and connection to Mother Earth.

Sage (black) is used to prepare people for ceremonies and teachings. It is used for releasing what is troubling the mind and for removing negative energy.

Cedar (white) is believed to reduce stress and anxiety and promote a good night's sleep. The smoke of burning cedar is said to attract the good spirits and eliminate negative energies

Dreamcatcher - Dreamcatchers originated in Ojibway culture (the Ojibway are part of a larger cultural group known as the Anishnaabeg). The Ojibway people believe that the dreamcatcher's web will trap bad dreams or dark spirits, thereby allowing the good dreams to escape through a small hole in the center.

Wampum Belt - This belt is a national belt of the Haudenosaunee. The belt is named after Hiawatha, an Onondaga who was the Peacemaker's helper in spreading the good words of Peace. In this belt, it records when five warring nations, the Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, and Mohawk, buried their weapons of war to live in peace.

Bear Paw- The Bear Clan people are known as Medicine People, the healers. There are stories passed down about how the Bear Clan people were given the gift of medicine from an elder woman who had the knowledge of all the medicine plants here on earth.

Metis Infinity Symbol - The infinity symbol represents the coming together of two distinct and vibrant cultures, those of European and Indigenous North America, to produce a distinctly new culture, the Metis. The flag symbolizes the creation of a new society with roots on both aboriginal and European culture and traditions.

Buffalo; The Buffalo represents respect because for as long as we have been here, the Buffalo has sustained our lives through clothing, food and shelter. The Buffalo is a tool of life to live harmoniously with a sense of balance. The Buffalo shows us the importance of respecting ourselves and others.
