  • The Sequoia Story Tree: The spirits gave the stories to the trees for safe keeping, for the roots of all trees spoke to the roots of all trees. A young tree showed a story to a passing spirit of things that had happened here. A Trickster had come and there was war on the land. A Great Messenger of peace spoke with the pipes and the people. Arrows were broken in a sign of peace and the people felt the healing of their hearts. There was abundance and warmth in the lives of the children once more. The roots of all trees speak to the roots of all trees.
  • It's In The Blood: The people cherish their connection to the land; they are the land. Their blood tells them stories in ancient languages. The roots listen, and the Earth drinks deeply of a love freely given.
  • The Turtles Are Hunting: The turtles are hunting, the jellies are hiding and the balance of earth is the death and rebirth in a cycle of time. The blue and the green of the so seldom seen is a gift to the eyes of our world.
  • Life In The Shadows: A mountain goat's peaceful sleep above the worries and concerns of survival can be a rare thing, a beautiful thing. It is this way with all living things on Turtle Island. The sleep may be fleeting, but when it happens, it is a small mercy to all of life that lives in the shadows.
  • The Water Walker: A woman walks for the healing of the water. Her body is weary and sore from the long road and the hard sun. As she sleeps, her spirit retraces her steps, healing the waters and gathering the prayers spoken along the way. Each of us that loves the water, is loved by the Earth.
  • Stealer Of Gold: (A conversation between the Creator and a young raven.)

"Why do your children love the golden stone so much? I have seen them kill for it and die for it. I have stolen their stone and taken their power. Creator I am only a young raven who must know why."

"The golden stone is but a stone. It holds no power until power is given, but the stone is no fool. It will accept the pedestal on which it is placed, and when it is time to leave, the stone will simply leave."

  • The Ice Cave: The ice melts, the earth warms, and secret places are made known to the hungry. Old spirits, long resting, are awakened amid the heaving and groaning of the planet.
  • A Hunter In The Garden: She moves through the water, silent, and fluid. Small creatures vanish as the hunter glides through their beautiful garden, and up above, the world of man continues on, untouched by the magic of the moment.
  • The Cedar Bath:  Her Grandmother made her a cedar bath. A sacred one. She felt the water whisper into her blood, "I love you." The cedar touched every tired bone and the spirit of the Standing Ones sang her to sleep. They held her right there in the middle of the earth with their powerful roots while the soil drank her sorrow.
    - Inspired by an Elder's story
  • Life Beneath The Shelf: There are creatures in our world who have an intelligence we could learn from. They exist within their world in harmony with all things. They are unseen but never unaffected by our inability to do the same.
  • Eastern Sunshine: A tribute to the beautiful Salmon, who’s life, gives life. Grandfather Sun rises as our Mother the Earth turns her face to greet him. Their union awakens life. Beneath the steel grey ocean, the Eastern Salmon moves through the water with quiet grace in silent waters.
