A collaboration between Mādahòkì Farm and Tree Teas Brewing, Ziibiins Nibi, the Algonquin name for stream water, comes in two refreshing flavours: Cedar Wild Mint and Cedar Wildberry Chai.
Chef Paul Owl, an Anishinaabe chef and traditional tea brewer from the Serpent River First Nation in Northern Ontario, developed the new drink, which is being offered as one of the farm’s expanding social enterprises. Owl also operates his own Treeteas Brewing business.
Ziibiins Nibi is consciously packaged by Ottawa-based Stream Water in recyclable aluminium cans, with labels designed by Rhonda Snow, a Métis artist from Fort Frances in Northwest Ontario. The labels, she says, illustrate the theme “water is life.”
